What separates them on the evidence
Both hold a 5.0 mean, and both hold a local-pack position on the city head term, so neither the rating nor the ranking separates them. Review depth does: Luma Creative carries 98 rated reviews on its profile and 101 in the live pack, against IQvideo - San Francisco Video Production's 57. That is close to double, and it is the clearest verified difference between them.
The second difference is how much each publishes. Luma lists 244 itemised services across five Google categories, covering the production chain end to end. We have not audited IQvideo's published service list, which is why three of its five dimensions are unscored. That is a gap in our research rather than a finding about the company, and it is the first thing we will close on the next refresh.
What this comparison cannot tell you
Two things, and they matter more than the gap above.
Neither company's rating distribution is doing much work here. Luma's is perfect at 98 of 98 five-star. We do not hold a breakdown for IQvideo, so we scored it on the mean alone and flagged that on the ranking page. A mean without a breakdown can hide a tail, and we are not claiming IQvideo has one.
Neither figure tells you about fit. Both are established San Francisco production companies with strong public records. A 41-review difference between two companies at the same rating is not a reason to pick one over the other for a specific brief, and we would not present it as one.
Which should you brief?
Brief Luma if you want the deeper public record and published scope you can read before the first call. Brief IQvideo if its portfolio fits your project better, and treat its lower rubric total as what it is: fewer dimensions verified, not worse performance.
The gap between them on the rubric is mostly a gap in our own coverage, and we would rather say that plainly than let the numbers imply a bigger difference than the evidence supports.
